INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LIFELONG SKIERS AND RIDERS.

This program is open daily from December 7, 2024 - early/mid April, to all ability levels, including first-timers. Ministars is based out of our child-friendly meeting space on the second floor of the Ramshead Base Lodge. Lessons incorporate vast learning terrain, from our innovative Woodward progression zone serviced by two covered Progression Carpets, to groomed cruisers and kid-friendly gladed runs, and coaching methods specifically geared towards kids to develop their excitement towards skiing and snowboarding.

Lunch is included with the Ministars program. Please notify us about your child's dietary restrictions when purchasing the lesson. We are able to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, nut free, kosher and gluten free options. Please be aware that all of our foods are made in a common kitchen, and cross contamination is a possibility. We encourage families to bring their own meals if they have specific dietary restrictions or needs outside of vegetarian requests.

Cancel Policy

Prior to 4:00 p.m. two days prior to the lesson date, lessons may be canceled for a 90% refund or 100% cancellation credit. Prior to 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the lesson date, lessons may be canceled for a 100% cancellation credit. No refunds. 

After 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the lesson, there are no cancellations or changes permitted since we’ve held that spot from our inventory and have assigned an instructor to teach the lesson. We know that weather and snow conditions vary, but if the resort is open for skiing/riding we will be providing lessons as scheduled and there are no refunds, vouchers, or credits issued due to these events. This full day program meets at 9:15 a.m. (9:00 a.m. Saturdays and peak dates*); lessons run 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and is open daily from December - April. The Youth Lessons program is designed to grow essential skills in skiers and riders of all abilities, so they can explore more terrain, more confidently. Through coaching methods specific for this age group, Youth Lessons provide an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, where kids learn without even realizing it, keeping the stoke high with our innovative Woodward learning environments such as Start Park and Progression Parks, plus mini glades and more. All lessons must be booked online in advance.

Lunch is included with the Youth Group Lessons program. Please notify us at registration time and lesson check-in if your child has any dietary restrictions. • Groups are formed by age and ability level.
• Please ensure your child has warm, waterproof layers, gloves/mittens and eye protection (sunglasses or goggles).
• Your child (ages 17 years and younger) is required to wear a properly fastened snow sports helmet when participating in a ski or snowboard lesson.
• If your child’s equipment malfunctions, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may select and sign for rentals from our rental shop.
• In the event of your child’s injury or medical emergency, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may contact medical personnel and/or arrange transportation to a medical facility. In case of emergency, we will attempt to reach the emergency contact provided at the time the lesson was purchased.
• Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may supervise transport of your child by van and public bus to other locations within the resorts.
• Your child will not always ride ski lifts with an instructor and may ride alone or with another child. If you want your child to always ride with an instructor, please arrange a one-to-one private lesson.

Can I move my child to a different age group?

We can move kids down an age bracket (i.e., putting a 7-year-old in ministers), but we should not move younger children up to Youth lessons.

Can I request a Specific Instructor? 

We cannot reserve a specific instructor ahead of time unless it is a private lesson. They should inquire at the Lesson Line-Up if a specific instructor is available. 

Can my children be in the same group?

If both children are similar in age and ski ability, the parent should ask at the Lesson Line-up. If the children are not similar in ability, they would not be in the same group.
