How Tos
What to do when the tubing tow goes down
In most cases it’s for less than 20 minutes or so and we just need to ask guests for patience while we work on it. We should encourage guests to continue their tubing session and offer resolution at the end of the session based on how long it’s actually down. In some cases we will know the tow will be down for a longer period of time in which case we can offer resolution at beginning of/during session.
Use the guidelines below but every day and situation will be slightly different...find the solution that works for each situation between beverage cards, BYDC, partial/full refunds, and providing complimentary gondola ride tickets.
- If a customer with prepurchase tickets arrives and the tow is down prior to them starting and they don’t want to go, it is ok to offer a full refund or voucher credit.
- If they are a walk-in customer and tow is down and they still want to tube, you can offer a 20% discount.
- If the tubing tow goes down for more than 20 minutes in a session and
- they would like to stop with 20 or more minutes left in the session; we can offer a 50% refund or complimentary scenic gondola ride ticket.
- they would like to continue tubing; we can offer a 20% refund
- This is a limited, very rare situation where using the REFUND action instead of Return action is the best approach. To use the REFUND action, see directions below. This allows them to keep their tubing access but have a portion of their payment refunded.
- If the tow rope goes down for 20 minutes or less and they continue to tube while the tow rope is down, it is ok to offer beverage cards or brighten your day card.
- Remember to use judgement and be flexible when you think it is needed. If you are in a pinch, please reach out to a manager or supervisor
