Early Season 

Opening Day Through Mid-November

Unlike most resorts, we don't set an opening date. As soon as Mother Nature graces us with cold temperatures our snowmaking team jumps into action and takes every opportunity to make snow to get us open. Once we have an opening day set, the information will be shared on our conditions report and social media, and we'll send alerts through the Killington App, by text message, and via email. Visit the communications hub to make sure you’re signed up to receive these alerts, by whatever method you prefer. 

When we first open for skiing and riding, it's typically on North Ridge area terrain, and access is provided via the K-1 Gondola and Peak Walkway (yes walking is required early season until we are skiing top to bottom). Our first day is usually reserved for season pass holders only and then we open 7-days/week 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. There may be times when walking is required down and up the Peak walkway and other times when you can ski/ride from Killington Peak down to the North Ridge and only have to walk up the walkway at the end of your day to ride the gondola back down to the K-1 base area. 

Once we have top to bottom skiing and riding between Killington Peak and the K-1 base area, we switch to 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and Peak Days* and 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. 

Given fickle weather and varying conditions this time of year it's important to regularly check the conditions report for current operating hours if you're planning to visit early or late season. We are not able to offer beginner or intermediate terrain during this time period.

Late Season 

Like our plan for opening, we don't set a closing day and will ski and ride on Superstar for as long as the snow lasts. Only intermediate and advanced skiing/snowboarding is available during the late season.

Friday: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 

Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 

Monday-Thursday: Closed 

Base Areas

In addition to the K-1 Base area already being open, here are typical opening and closing timeframes for our other base areas. 

• Ramshead: Late November/Early December - mid/late April 
• Snowshed: Mid-December - mid-April 
• Bear Mountain: Mid-December - late April 
• Skyeship: Late December - late March 

We are typically able to provide beginner terrain from mid-December through mid-April.
